Nicola Dixon is director of global impact at General Mills, with responsibilities focused on helping to ensure the advancement of key enterprise-wide social and environmental impact initiatives, company impact and ESG reporting and leading the company’s philanthropy strategy and programs.  As part of the global impact team, Nicola and her team develop strategies and operationalize workstreams and partnerships related to three global focus areas: Increasing Food Security; Regenerating Ecosystems and Strengthening Hometown Communities. 

Prior to joining General Mills philanthropy and global impact group nine years ago, Nicola had a two-decade advertising, marketing and brand management career, including eight years in General Mills marketing roles where she managed some of America’s most recognized brands across grocery retail as well as convenience and foodservice channels. Nicola was the 2018 recipient of the Champions Award at General Mills - the highest award given by the company’s leadership team to employees - in recognition of her leadership of food waste reduction and surplus food recovery initiatives and resulting impacts in North America, Europe and Asia.     

Originally from South Africa, Nicola grew up in Australia and later the United States. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism, an MBA in business management, and a Master of Public Affairs degree in business, society and the environment from the University of Minnesota.
