Help Us End Food Waste

Each year, we waste a staggering 31% of the food we produce—enough for 120 billion meals. As that excess food is grown, processed, transported, and eventually rots, it burns through our limited supply of natural resources and emits greenhouse gases that warm our planet.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. Together, we can redesign a food system that makes the best use of the food we grow.

Donate to ReFED today to fuel data-driven, high-impact solutions to reduce food waste.

Our 4-Star Rating from Charity Navigator and Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid mean that you can donate with confidence!

ReFED Directs Philanthropic Funding for Maximum Impact Through the Catalytic Grant Fund

Beginning in 2022, ReFED established the Catalytic Grant Fund, a fund to provide direct nonrecoverable and recoverable grants to organizations on the front lines of the fight against food loss and waste. Based on our experience with a highly successful COVID-19 Relief Fund and the wealth of data and insights that we hold on the problem of waste in the food system, we have created this opportunity to help philanthropists who want to support system change, but don’t have the bandwidth to research individual funding opportunities. The Catalytic Grant Fund takes the guesswork out of the process, assuring that donor’s dollars are used where they will have the greatest impact – reducing food loss and waste, addressing climate change positively, supporting biodiversity, getting food to families that need it, and helping businesses secure better bottom lines.

For more information on giving to the Catalytic Grant Fund, please email [email protected] or click the link below.
