Brendan Pierce serves as Creative Specialist on ReFED's Communications team, where he helps advance ReFED's communications initiatives through building out and managing the organization’s social media strategy, supporting on a range of graphic design projects, and contributing to content development and email marketing.

Prior to joining ReFED, Brendan worked in several communications and policy-focused roles with the City of Providence, the Farmlink Project, SEE Alliance, and the Peterson Foundation. He became particularly interested in the food waste sector through his work with the Farmlink Project, a nonprofit that collects excess produce from farms across America and delivers it to organizations that help feed food-insecure individuals. He is specifically most passionate about the role of communications and storytelling in driving action on food waste and the climate crisis as a whole.

Brendan is based in New York City and received his Bachelor of Arts in both Media Studies and Political Science from Brown University. In his free time, he enjoys hiking/backpacking, rock climbing, playing soccer, and working on writing and photography projects.
