Janine is the former CEO of the SASB Foundation (SASB) and served as Special Advisor to the Chair of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). Translating vision into strategy and goals to enable execution, Janine leads across all business units/functions to build high performing teams and create a culture where people and organizations succeed.

Most recently, Janine served as Chief Executive Officer of SASB, the Value Reporting Foundation (VRF) and as Special Advisor to the Chair of the ISSB. She is recognized for driving SASB and the VRF to global recognition as the leaders in investor-focused corporate sustainability disclosure. Under her leadership, global investor support for the SASB Standards grew to over $70 trillion in assets, becoming the leading tool for integration of ESG factors into investment and stewardship processes. Over 2,500 companies began to use the SASB Standards to disclose sustainability performance to their investors. Revenue grew to $20 million annually, and earned revenue grew from minimal to 50%. To ensure growth and meet market needs for global sustainability standards, Janine became one of the leaders in the global effort to create the ISSB. She led two mergers in two years to consolidate SASB and the VRF into the ISSB and simplify the global sustainability disclosure landscape. Janine has led a distinguished career in financial services. Prior to joining SASB, she served as Chief Operating Investment Officer for the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) where her responsibilities included governance & sustainability, Chief Operating Officer for the European and Global Fixed Income businesses of Barclays Global Investors (now BlackRock), and held executive management roles at Bank of America, including Chief Financial Officer/Chief Administrative Officer, Commercial and Retail and Executive Vice President, Consumer E-Commerce and Brand Development.

Janine serves on the Board of Directors of the International Foundation for Valuing Impacts and on the Board of ReFED, a nonprofit catalyzing evidence-based solutions for food waste. She also serves on the Climate-related Financial Risk Advisory Committee to the US Financial Stability Oversight Council, on Neuberger Berman’s Sustainable Investing and Stewardship Advisory Council and on the Advisory Boards of the Energy and Environment Alliance and Blockchain Coinvestors. She is a Senior Advisor to the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). She previously served on the Board of Directors of Equilibrium Capital, the Marin Agricultural Land Trust, BLab Global, SASB/VRF, Community Initiatives, and the SF AIDS Foundation.

In recognition for leadership at the intersection of sustainability, accounting and finance, Janine was selected as a 2020 and 2021 NACD Directorship 100 Honoree and named to the 2020 Business Insider's 100 People Transforming Business list. Janine has a B.B.A. in Accounting from Southern Methodist

University. She currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
