Samar Habib

Director of Research

Samar Habib serves as Director of Research on ReFED's Data & Insights team. Samar has over 20 years of graduate research experience, spanning three continents, multiple sectors, and diverse research methodologies. She began her career in higher education, before moving into impact evaluation of socio-economic development programs around the world. While transitioning her work life to the U.S. in 2015, Samar found herself on a detour into the San Francisco Bay Area's booming tech sector, where she learned applied research techniques specific to the business sector and augmented her credential stack with certifications in management science, analytics, content strategy, and business communications.

A life-long learner, motivated by the perennial desire to work with others who are solving complex social, economic, and environmental problems, Samar's favorite pastime is sleep, as she has learned that there is no better way to consolidate all the information and knowledge that comes her way on any given day than deep, delta-wave sleep. An evidence-driven thinker and executive, Samar nevertheless leans into the depth and breadth of unconscious knowledge processes otherwise known as intuition.
