ReFED launched the Food Waste Action Network (FWAN) at Climate Week New York in 2025 with an “I have, I need, I will” model—designed as a space for anyone to commit to food waste solutions, connect with peers, and accelerate impact together.

While we have made many valuable connections through FWAN, we have reached the difficult decision to sunset the group. We will continue to engage with our community through groups like the U.S. Food Waste Pact, Food Waste Funders Circle, and convenings throughout the year.

We’ll officially deactivate the FWAN Community on August 14. If you want to ensure access to resources, contacts or discussions from the community, be sure to download them before August 14.

We still strongly believe in a model of shared offers and needs and hope you will continue to drive meaningful progress on food waste. Here are three ways to take action now:

• Register for our annual Food Waste Solutions Summit - THE place to meet other food waste professionals

• Donate to ReFED to support our ongoing work

• Keep up with news, events, reports, and announcements through our ReFED newsletter, blog, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok
