CAREER HISTORY

Janine is the former CEO of the SASB Foundation (SASB) and the Value Reporting Foundation (VRF) and served as Special Advisor to the Chair of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). She is recognized for driving SASB and VRF to global recognition as the leaders in investor-focused corporate sustainability disclosure. Under her leadership, global investor support for the SASB Standards grew to over $70 trillion in assets, becoming the leading tool for integration of material sustainability factors into investment and stewardship processes. Over 2,500 companies began to use the SASB Standards to disclose sustainability performance to their investors.

To meet market needs for global sustainability standards, Janine became one of the leaders in the global effort to create the ISSB. She led two mergers in two years to consolidate SASB and the VRF into the ISSB and simplify the global sustainability disclosure landscape.

Prior to joining SASB, Janine led a distinguished career in financial services. She served as Chief Operating Investment Officer for the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) and as Chief Operating Officer for the European and Global Fixed Income businesses of Barclays Global Investors (now BlackRock).
